The Han River in Seoul has a new bridge, number 31, opening this Wednesday, September 1st.
It’s been 11 years in the making. This is the World Cup Bridge.
It goes from the World Cup Stadium area in western Seoul, across the river.
And there it will link to another new road opening the same day.
That’s the Seobu Underground Expressway, which will run beneath the crowded Seobu expressway, diverting around 50-thousand cars a day.
With the bridge and the new underground road, officials say that’ll reduce a 30 minute trip to about ten minutes.
It’ll be free for the first two weeks, but then there’ll be a toll of 2,500 won, or about two dollars.
