Finance Minister Hong Nam-ki has unveiled a national blueprint for nurturing Korea’s so-called “big three” industries namely, semiconductors, bio-health and next generation vehicles.
Hong said the government will earmark 5.4 billion U.S. dollars to support these three key industries in its budget proposal for next year, an increase of 43 percent from this year.
He added that the government plans to build more than 3-thousand repair shops for electric and hydrogen cars by 2025… and extend the period for free repairs to three years from the initial two.
The government will also seek to train more than 46-thousand mechanics for next generation cars by 2024.
