The President of Kazakhstan embarks on a two-day state visit to South Korea.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will be holding a summit with President Moon Jae-in on Tuesday.
It will mark the first visit to South Korea by a head of state since the start of the pandemic.
The leaders are expected to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation on bilateral and international issues as well as measures to boost cultural and human exchanges as the two countries prepare to mark 30 years of diplomatic ties next year.
Kazakhstan is South Korea’s largest trading partner and investment destination in Central Asia.
The two sides had agreed on a state visit last March but it was postponed due to COVID-19.
It’s a reciprocal trip as President Moon made a state visit to Kazakhstan in 2019.
