Over 583,000 people vaccinated in S. Korea; 490 new COVID-19 infections reported
More than 583-thousand have received their first COVID-19 vaccine shots in South Korea since vaccinations started more than two weeks ago.
That’s around 74 percent of people on the priority list.
On Friday alone, over 35-thousand people were vaccinated.
Health authorities say over 600 new suspected adverse reactions were reported, mostly with light symptoms, such as headaches or fever.
There were no new post-vaccination deaths, while 12 new suspected anaphylaxis cases were reported.
But the authorities say there was no anaphylaxis caused by the vaccine among the deaths and severe adverse reactions that have been reported.
On Saturday, the country reported 490 new COVID-19 cases.
All but 16 were locally transmitted.
