The outgoing U.S. ambassador to South Korea, Harry Harris, paid a visit to President Moon Jae-in ahead of his departure this coming Thursday.
Harris told the President that one of the highlights of his time in Seoul was being able to contribute to relations between the U.S. and North Korea.
He also said that he will not forget the way South Korea took care of its people and even held an election in the pandemic.
Harris added that the South Korea-U.S. alliance will continue to grow not only in the area of defense but also in the fields of culture, science and technology.
President Moon, in return, emphasized that he will work closely with the new Biden administration to strengthen the alliance and for peace on the Korean Peninsula, as well as other issues such as global warming and the fight against COVID-19.
