The ten ASEAN member states and South Korea, China, and Japan agreed to enhance cooperation to combat COVID-19 and recover the economy during a virtual summit on Saturday.
South Korea stressed that as the pandemic continues, there are more problems they must solve together.
Let’s take a listen:
“We have to take health cooperation one step further, working together to develop vaccines and treatments and to ensure fair distribution.
We need to establish a fast and transparent mutual-assistance system to prepare for any new infectious diseases that may occur at any time.”
The ASEAN plus three states also signed an agreement on the recovery of the economy, which includes putting more effort into active trade and investment, and allowing easier movement of products and services between the member states.
