President Moon Jae-in thanked the WHO Director General on Thursday for his tweet in Korean praising South Korea’s countermeasures against COVID-19.
The president retweeted the message from Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, and wrote that his use of Korean is encouraging for the Korean people, who have been key to the country’s virus prevention efforts.
He added South Korea will continue to work with WHO and the world to overcome the pandemic.
Tedros tweeted Tuesday that Seoul’s response showed that compliance with public health measures and solidarity can effectively control the spread.
