The number of face-to-face bank transactions has fallen to an all-time low amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the Bank of Korea, face-to-face transactions made up just seven.four percent of all bank transactions during the second quarter of this year.
That’s a drop of point-seven percentage points from the previous quarter.
This comes as people are increasingly using online banking to avoid personal contact. Online banking made up 64.4 percent of transactions in the second quarter, and the proportion of non-contact transactions is expected to further increase.
