President Moon Jae-in says South Korea will play a role to give people courage and pride during difficult times.
Taking to his social media on Monday to mark ‘World Korean Day’ President Moon noted the contributions of the 7.5 million overseas Koreans to the development of their home country.
He has taken part in an event to mark the day in-person every year since taking office, but this time it was put off due to COVID-19.
The president also thanked Koreans abroad for sending donations and quarantine equipment saying it displayed cooperation and unity.
He vowed to step up cooperation with the international community for a joint response against infectious diseases.
