Expressways across South Korea will be packed this Chuseok as people travel back to their hometowns.
To reduce the risk of COVID-19 spreading during the annual holiday migration, visitors to expressway rest stops will have to check in, and must eat any food in their cars.

Millions of South Koreans hit the road every Chuseok holiday to visit their families across the country.
And this year, more people will be driving, rather than taking buses or trains, due to worries over COVID-19.
But there are worries that the virus could spread at expressway rest areas.
To minimize the risk of more outbreaks, the government has decided not to waive the expressway toll this holiday and has put special guidelines in place from September 29th to October 4th.
Travelers wishing to use the rest area facilities during that period will be required to sign a visitor’s log, use a QR code, or even call ahead using a virtual number to check in beforehand.
The process is simple and people don’t have to worry about privacy issues because they are not writing down their personal information.
People won’t be allowed to dine at rest area cafes and restaurants their only option is to take the food away and eat it in their cars.
And to minimize the spread of the coronavirus, the expressway rest areas are being disinfected at least twice a day.
The government is also advising people to follow the three COVID-19 prevention guidelines wearing a face mask, staying in the rest area for as short a time as possible and keeping 2 meters apart from others.
