Some four-thousand delivery workers in South Korea are planning a walkout starting next Monday ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
Late last week, the transport ministry recommended measures to protect logistics workers like increasing the number of people sorting parcels.
The government and logistics companies are still in talks.
Parcel volume jumps over ten percent every Chuseok period, but this year’s volume is expected to soar by more than 30 percent the usual amount due to COVID-19.
In the absence of effective measures, the union of couriers voted 95 percent in favor of going on strike.
