Fewer people in South Korea are expected to visit their hometowns for this year’s Chuseok holiday due to the resurgence of COVID-19.
According to rail operator Korail on Tuesday, only 263-thousand train tickets were sold on the first day of sales, down 55-percent compared to last Chuseok.
After the government urged people to stay at home over the holiday, many might be choosing to skip public transport and use their own vehicles.
From today, Chuseok train tickets for the Honam, Jeolla, Gangneung, Janghang Lines can be bought online.
