The number of new infections in South Korea rose by 119 on Monday the lowest daily increase in 24 days.
Most of the newly confirmed cases came from the Seoul Metropolitan Area.
It’s the fifth straight day that the number of new infections was fewer than 200 after surpassing 400 late last month.
The total number of confirmed cases in the country is tallied at 21,296.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters says religious and medical facilities as well as retirement homes are some of the major infection routes.
In addition, cluster infections continue to rise in various gatherings at multi-use facilities.

“Five more infections were tied to the August 15th demonstration in central Seoul, raising the total to 532. Meanwhile, there were two more cases related to cluster infections at a call center in Seoul’s Gangdong-gu district, the total tallies at 18.”

There were two more coronavirus-related deaths on Sunday.
Both were from Seoul, had underlying conditions and were in their 70s and 80s.
Health authorities will monitor the country’s coronavirus situation during the week leading up to Chuseok, Korea’s national holiday that falls between September 30th to October 4th this year before announcing any detailed social distancing measures.
The authorities had warned they may decide to apply level two social distancing during Chuseok regarded as one of the country’s biggest traditional holidays and serves as a chance for family members and relatives to get together.
Level-two social distancing measures on the three-tier system include a ban on gatherings of more than 50 people indoors and 100 people outdoors.
