South Korea reported two-hundred-67 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday,..keeping the daily increase in the two-hundred range for the fourth consecutive day.
It is an improvement from last week, when figures spiked to over four-hundred on Thursday, after which they hovered around three-hundred for three days.
However, despite the decrease, the government advises further caution.

“Cluster infections continue to pop up in various types of facilities and among group gatherings. Also, we have not seen a drastic drop in the daily increase just yet.”

There is a great deal of concern focused on the Seoul capital area, which alone accounts for more than 75 percent of all cases that have stemmed from the most recent outbreak.
Of the one-hundred-87 new cases reported from the metropolitan area on Wednesday,…the majority came from the city of Seoul itself with one-hundred-one.
In the beginning of this latest outbreak, most transmissions were linked to a virus-hit church in the Seongbuk-gu District and a mass rally in city center.
But, now, multiple cluster infections are popping up at new COVID-19 hotspots, including a music tuition academy, sports facilities, and at volunteer groups.
What’s making health authorities even more concerned,…is the rising number of severe cases of the virus.
As of Wednesday, the country reported 20 new patients who are critically ill, the highest since the outbreak,..bringing the total to one-hundred-24.
Health authorities see this week as being a critical period in getting the virus back under control.

“This new week will decide whether the country can contain the spread of the second wave,or see yet another surge in cases.”

To prevent the latter from happening, the government desperately urges people to stay alert and stick to social distancing measures.
